Kodaikanal Health Centre
A health centre was opened in December 2005 at Kodaikanal to provide primary health care to poor people at their door-step. The aim of the centre is to ensure community health and health care. In due course, the health services are to be extended to the tribal communities in the area, and carried out by organising self help groups (SHGs). A doctor from Kastruba hospital visits the centre once every week. The centre houses qualified personnel, permanently residing at the hospital premises for emergencies and immediate need. The local population is actively involved in the health programme.
Local coordinator, Kodaikanal - Mr. David Barun Kumar
